One of the most exciting activity that one can look forward to during their travel to Rishikesh is Trekking to the Waterfall. There are numerous hidden waterfalls around Rishikesh. The Rishikesh city is surrounded by a very famous reserved forest: The Rajaji National Park, and there are many hidden waterfalls in the forest area.
These hidden treasures are well preserved and display distinct natural beauty as they are not easily accessible, one has to trek to reach these waterfalls. Some of the waterfalls also have limestone caves near them. The most beautiful waterfalls around Rishikesh are: Neergadhu Waterfall, Garud Chatti Waterfall and the Patna Waterfall.
The trekking to the waterfall is an adventurous activity as it involves walking through the jungle on narrow trails. The beauty of these waterfalls is breathtaking, all the hardwork and trekking becomes worthwhile once you reach the waterfall. It is extremely refreshing to stand near the waterfall.
The great Himalayan mountain ranges are some of the most beautiful and interesting areas in Rishikesh (Uttarakhand) to visit. As they are often not served by roads, they can also be the most remote and difficult places to get to and the only real way to see them is on foot. For some people the trekking may be an end in itself, for others it is a means to enjoy the magnificent panoramas and often the peoples of the mountains with their culture, traditions and religions provide an equal interest to the scenery.
